Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: STRUCK BY
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards: a) Worksites such as, but not limited to, Route 23, MP 51.3, Montague, NJ. Employees used a chain with a lower work load rated than required for the job. Violation disclosed on or about 10/22/08. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to: Follow the manufacturers installation specifications and instructions for Snap-Tite Culvert Liners. Choose the proper grade chain with a working load above the force required to move and join the culvert liner pipe sections.
