Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: REFINERY
29 CFR 1910.37(a)(2): Exit routes were not arranged so that employees did not have to travel toward a high hazard area. ALON USA, LP, 200 Refinery Road, Big Spring, TX. The employer does not arrange all exit routes away from high hazard areas. This violation was observed on or about April 15, 2009 in the following instance: The exterior of the East Exit door of the Western Storage Warehouse was not kept clear of totes containing flammable and corrosive materials. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that exit routes of warehouses do not lead toward high hazard areas.
