Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: STRUCK BY
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck by hazard from the steel storage racks system having the following deficiencies: a)Plaques indicating the maximum permissible unit load and/or maximum uniformly distributed load per level and the maximum total load per bay were not posed on any of the steel storage racks aisles, on or about 12/11/08. b)Anchor bolts capable of resisting the forces caused by the horizontal and vertical loads on the rack were not installed on all rack columns on or about 12/11/08. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
