Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a burn hazard when operating the hydraulic sandwich press in the 4 by 9 press room: a) 4x7 Press Room - Employees work in close proximity to a 380F degree steam pipe without the benefit of the pipe being wrappped in insulating or protective material, thereby exposing the employees to a hazard, on or about 12-09-09. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Among other methods, on feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to: a) to wrap hot pipes with insulating materials to prevent employee contact.
