Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment or a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: a)On or about July 16, 2008, and at times prior, employees were exposed to crushing injuries when operating forktruck that did not have seat belts. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method of correcting this hazard would be to install seat belts on all forktrucks. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
