Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to open flame heaters that were not designed for drilling work environments: a) Warrant 4339 Well 43, Foster Township, McKean County, PA - On or about April 5, 2010, employees were exposed to a fire hazard from an open flame torpedo type heater that was utilized inside the dog house trailer. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, feasible methods to correct the condition is to comply with applicable requirements noted in American Petroleum Institute (API) recommended Practice RP 54, Paragraph 7.1.8 by providing/installing a safety-designed nonopened flame heater.ed
