Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were being exposed to crushing injuries from sliding aircraft hangar doors falling from their tracks: a.On or about November 24, 2008, in the Gulf Atlantic Hangar, aircraft hangar doors on the southwest and southeast sides of the hangar were not equipped with adequate door stops, exposing employees to the hazard of being crushed or struck by the doors. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install a functioning door stop to prevent the hangar doors from rolling from their tracks.
