Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to potential flying objects: Tool Room: A Type 1 straight wheel was used in the Gorton Cutter Grinder to grind ejector pins and was subject to side grinding. The Type 1 wheel was designed for grinding on the periphery of the wheel, not on the side of the wheel. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide the proper type of wheel, such as a Type 6 cup wheel, in the cutter grinder where the intended grinding face is located on the side of the wheel.d
