Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by/caught between hazards: a.Worksite: Employees were working inside of wooden roof trusses on a residential apartment building. The wooden trusses were not adequately braced in that lateral bracing at the top, middle, and the end of the trusses with diagonal bracing throughout, was missing, as determined on or about 04/28/09. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTANCE METHOD OF ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS ON ROOF TRUSS ERECTION OR THE BSCI 1-03 ISSUED BY THE WOOD TRUSS COUNCIL OF AMERICA AND THE TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE.
