Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:09/27/07 Location:Main Warehouse Condition:Employer allowed work practices that exposed employees to being caught in conveyor belt while standing on the conveyor belt in motion. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to restrict employees from walking and/or standing on the conveyor belt while it is in motion, and meet the requirements of the American National Standard, ANSI/ASME B20.1a-1985, Safety Standards for Conveyors and Related Equipment. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
