Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that The ladder was last used on or about the week of Oct. 29th 2007 and was available for use prior to this date. ANSI A 14.5-2000 - American National Standard for Ladders, Portable Reinforced Plastic Safety Requirements: Section 9.4.2 Damaged Ladders. "Broken and bent ladders shall be marked and taken out of service and until they are repaired by a competent mechanic or destroyed in such a manner to render them useless. The user shall not attempt to repair a defective side rail." One feasible abatement in this situation, among others, is remove and destroy ladders with this type of damage. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
