21 VSA Title 23, Chapter 3, Sub-chapter 5,Section223 (a), Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by injuries associated with working on and around heavy equipment. Location:Tipping Floor, 1496 Redmond Road, Williston VT Violation:The employer did not provide a work place free from recognized struck by hazards that could cause or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, a) The windshield on the Caterpillar Front End Loader, Model # IT28G, was cracked in the line of sight of the operator,diminishing visibility and exposing employees to struck by injuries. b) The windshield on the Caterpillar Excavator, Model # 318BLN, was not in place , exposing the operator to flying objects and liquids.
