Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: BURNS

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to burns: (a) Key Bellevilles Inc., Belt Line Area: On or about 10/19/07, the old belt line was not equipped with an automatic gas shut off device. Among other method, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement to correct this hazard is to equip each burner with an approved, practically instantaneous (flame conductivity) combustion safeguard, arranged through suitable approved safety shut-off valves to shut off fuel to the burner and its pilot in the event of flame failure in accordance with NFPA 86. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION IS NEEDED FOR THIS ITEM
