Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: employees were exposed to the hazard of falls while standing on the top step and end cap of a six foot fiberglass ladder, on or about 9-6-07. ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD OF ABATEMENT WOULD BE TO: 1) Replace the 6 foot step ladder with an 8 or 10 foot ladder or 2) Set up a scaffolding station.ing
