Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushed-by or struck-by hazards: (a)On or about 06/27/07, 5.5 miles off County Road 888, Heflin, the operator of a New Holland tractor was not wearing seat belt. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to ensure that all drivers utilize a working restraint device provided on the tractor, as stated in the operators manual, Section 1, page 4, Operator's Seat and Seat Belt.
