Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about November 16, 2007, located at the intersection of Atlantic Blvd. and Coral Springs Drive in Coral Springs, Florida, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards while landscaping along the median. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard would be to: (a) Provide high visibility vests to employees when working in high traffic areas on a public road. IN THE ALTERNATIVE 29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was no used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
