Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: On or about 10/15/07, employees placing roof trusses were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 20-25 feet due to a potential truss collapse from a lack of diagonal bracing and the storage of trusses on uneven ground. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to install bracing and store trusses, as specified in the Wood Truss Council of America and Truss Plate Institute publication BSCI-1-03 "Guide for Handling, Installing & Bracing of Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses".
