Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: On or about 05/30/2007, one employee was injured by the counterweight of an excavator while it was being removed from the equipment. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to ensure that employees are prohibited from getting near the danger drop zone. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
