Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: The employer failed to ensure that employees were protected as follows: a.At the City Center project an employee was standing on the mid-rail of a scissor lift while cutting metal with a torch. Reference: ANSI/SIA A92.6-1990 for Self Propelled Elevating Work Platforms, Section 8.11.1: Personnel shall maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working thereon. Use of planks, ladders, or any other device on the aerial platform for achieving additional height or reach shall be prohibited. One feasible means of abatement would be to ensure that the operator follows the ANSI 8.11.1 requirement.
