Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: UNAPOPPROC
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were not wearing a seatbelts while operating powered industrial trucks and were exposed to the hazard of being thrown from the operators station: (a)2030 North Union Street, Middletown, Pennsylvania - Employees worked loading and unloading truck with Yale and Toyota powered industrial trucks. The employer did not require employees to wear seatbelts while operating the powered industrial trucks, on or about May 20, 2008. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazards is to wear the seatbelts provided on the powered industrial trucks. VERIFICATION REQUIREDTION
