Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employee(s) were exposed to struck-by and caught-between hazards while working on and near prefabricated wood roof trusses that were inadequately braced. Jobsite: Site. Workers were exposed to struck-by and caught-between hazards while working on and in close proximity to the installation process of prefabricated wood roof trusses where the trusses had not been adequately braced and there was a subsequent collapse. A feasible method of abatement would be to adhere to the recommended bracing schedules of the Truss Plate Institute publication BSCI B-1 thru B-11.
