Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to drowning hazards: a.Brickyard Lake, Receiver Line # 1199, Station 1284: On or about May 19, 2008 and at times prior employees were exposed to drowning hazards. The employer did not ensure that the employees utilized a skiff or any other type of a small boat when requited to cross bodies of water. Among other methods, one feasible abatement method to correct this hazard is by ensuring that the employees utilize a skiff or any other type of a small boat when crossing bodies of water.
