Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970; The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards which were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to falls from moving vehicles: a) On or about October 27, 2007 employees were exposed to injury in that, an employee was riding on the platform between the semi-truck and the trailer. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to follow industry practice and ride in the cab using a seatbelt while the vehicle is moving: Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
