Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to slipping hazards: (a)Butterball, LLC & 150 Main Street, Longmont, CO 80501: On or before December 26, 2007, the employer did not ensure lower lying areas within an area known as "14 acres" were free from accumulated ice and that employees were sufficiently trained on proper work practices during inclement weather conditions. The east side of "14-acres" accumulated water as a result of snow melt. With the advent of colder temperatures the water froze and created slippery conditions for employees walking in the area.
