Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: STRUCK BY
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that an employee was exposed to struck by hazards: (a)AJ Transport Inc. at 6615 Powell St., Loveland, CO 80538: On March 8, 2007 the employer operated the Bobcat model 763 skid steer without training or knowledge in its safe use in that the employer operated the skid steer to load it on a tow truck and allowed the employee to work under the raised bucket. This condition exposed the employee to a struck-by hazard. Abatement Note: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to read and understand the Operator's Handbook which is located behind the operators seat and obtain training prior to operating the skid steer. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (See enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").-Certification
