Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: (a) On or about September 26, 2006, 3682 Highway 8 South, Richardton, ND, for the employee operating a rubber-tired, P-3000 Tire Roller compactor that did not have rollover protection and seatbelts to protect employees in the event of a rollover. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to follow the requirements of The American National Standard SAE J1040b, which includes, among other requirements, installation of Rollover Protective Structures.
