Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a crushing hazard in the event of a crane malfunction. a) Bun Room: A proper periodic rope inspection was not performed and documented for the Albrecht Baumer overhead underhung crane and hoist, on or about June 6, 2007. b) Bun Room: The Albrecht Baumer overhead underhung crane was not equipped with an audible or visual warning device, on or about June 6, 2007. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO PERFORM A PERIODIC ROPE INSPECTION PER ASME B30.16 (OVERHEAD HOISTS), AND ASME B30.11 (MONORAILS AND UNDERHUNG CRANES), SECTION 11-1.11 CONCERNING AUDIBLE OR VISUAL WARNING MEANS. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
