Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(A)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: On or about 03/12/2007, employees were exposed to a fall hazard greater than 12 feet from the ground while working from a cage that was not secured to the forks of a forklift. Among other means, one feasible method of abatement is to secure the platform to the forks of the forklift, as required by the American National Standards Institute B56.1 - 1993. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
