Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/21/06 Location:Northbound U.S. Route 301, Mile Marker 101 Equipment:Anthony Liftgate, Model: #ATU-1800LB-SF, on rear of Ford F-450 Stake Body Truck Condition:An employee was exposed to the hazard of being crushed by a moving truck, while positioned upon a liftgate that was designed for lifting and lowering cargo, only prohibiting the platform to be occupied by personnel while the truck was in motion. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to utilize equipment that is designed for the placement and removal of traffic control cones. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
