Minn. Stat. 182.653 subd. 2: The employer did not furnish to each employee, conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards which caused or were likely to cause death or serious injury to employees: PVC piping was being used to transport compressed air, which exposes employees to explosive fragmentation should the piping rupture This hazard is recognized by the Plastic Pipe Institute, and has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor since 1988. Use of the piping in this manner is also prohibited by ANSI/ASME B31.8 1995 Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping System Standard.ion
