Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer does not furnish employment and a place of employment which is free from recognized hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or physical harm: Patterson-UTI Drilling Company, LP, LLLP, Rig 631 University Lease 20 - 11A, Kermit Texas. For the period of time up to and including 07/09/06, the Ambient Air Monitor (model 812-FB) used to monitor air for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) had not been calibrated since 03/01/2006. This condition exposed employees to the hazard of being exposed to hydrogen sulfide.
