Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CRUSHING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: (a) Grizzly Well #13-6H, McKenzie County, ND, the rated load capacity of the 1 1/2- inch diameter rope being used by employees to lift a gas separator tank was not determined. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to verify the rope's rated load capacity and post that amount where the operators can see it.
