Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:05/10/06 Location:Units 212, 213 Condition:Drywall studs were used to frame load-bearing walls of an office/mezzanine structure, exposing employees to the hazard of being struck, crushed by the structure in the event of collapse. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to frame the structure using light gauge framing elements approved by a licensed professional engineer and the architect of record. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
