Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of being struck by rolling vehicles: a) on or about October 16, 2006, employees were exposed to the hazards of being struck by a vehicle being which rolled off the alignment machine. Among other methods, feasible and useful, to correct this hazard one method of abatement would be to provide the following: 1) a system of wheel chocks or similar restraint device outside the vehicle to prevent vehicles from inadvertently rolling off the alignment machine's inclined ramp. 2) training employees in the hazards of operating the alignment machine and the methods to control or eliminate those hazards including but not limited to following instructions in the alignment system's operator's manual.
