North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: collapsing supported vehicles. a)Vehicle maintenance area - the pair of yellow and black jack stands available for use were not equipped with a load rating and one of the stands was equipped with a bolt in place of the missing set pin. Possible Means Of Abatement: The employer could replace the stands with provided with proper load rating data or the employer could contact the manufacturer of the jack stands and obtain the load rating for the equipment.
