Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employee was exposed to: On or about May 8, 2008, at workplace located at 1625 Diplomat Drive, Carrollton, TX 75006; employees moving a freestanding overhead crane system while pushing four of the six legs supported on dollies, were exposed to a struck-by hazard from the overhead crane components when the bridge crane collapsed. AMONG OTHER METHODS, SOME FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE MEANS TO ABATE THESE HAZARDS ARE: a) Disassemble entire assembly before movement or relocation in accordance with the manufacturer; b) Keep aisles and passageways clear to provide for free and safe movement of material handling equipment and employees; c) Remove protruding bolts/nails from floor of passageways prior to movement of equipment.s
