Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: EXPLOSION
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of fire and explosion due to the release of acetylene. On or about July 25, 2007, at a workplace located at 538 S. Industrial Blvd., Dallas TX, during the delivery and connection of acetylene cylinder trailers to the employer's acetylene withdraw system employees were exposed to the hazards of fire and explosion. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement includes but is not limited to the installation of a deluge system for the trailer docking area.
