Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: ELECTRIC
North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrical hazards: a)establishment, kitchen meat preparation area - where equipment such as, but not limited to, a Hobart Chopper (model # 841810, Serial # 11253419, 11.1 amps, 115 VAC) was plugged into a receptacle which was not equipped with a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). Abatement Note: One feasible and acceptable abate method, among others, to correct this hazard is to install Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters. [Reference: National Electrical Code 2005 Edition.
