Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to THE HAZARD OF FALLS: a) On or about 7/11/06, Cayuga Street at Johnston Street: An employee was using the bucket of an aerial lift to push a tree over. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to follow the requirements of ANSI Z133.1, Pruning, Repairing, Maintaining, and Removing Trees, and Cutting Brush - Safety Requirements., Section 6.2.14, and Section 4.1.2. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
