Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard falling from a moving trailer: a)Howard Road, Volney NY, on or about 5/30/06: An employee was standing on a Finn T60 hydro seeder mounted on a trailer that was being pulled by a truck traveling at 30 mph's. One feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to; Not allow employees to ride on a Finn T60 hydro seeder while being pulled behind a truck at speeds greater than 5 mile per hour in accordance with Finn Corporation safety manual.
