Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) On or about September 1, 2006 - employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by or falling from a collapsing wood roof truss system or a wood truss floor system, in that; the trusses were not adequately braced relative to the amount, size and location of the braces in order to prevent a collapse. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is to install trussed in accordance with the Truss Plate Institute's BSCI-B1 "Handling, Installing and Bracing of Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses" which was attached to and delivered with the trusses from the manufacturer.
