Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a 17 to 18 foot fall hazard. a) Anthony's Pier 9, Entrance Portico - On or about 7/28/05 - Two employees were severely injured when they fell 17 to 18 feet while working from a scissor lift while changing light bulbs in the ceiling of the entrance portico of a banquet hall facility. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to train employees in the safe use and operational requirements of ANSI/SIA A92.6, 1999, Section 7.10, Operator Warnings and Instructions for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS CITATION
