Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the following: a.On the site, an employee was exposed to an approximate 11 foot fall hazard while standing on the forks on a JLG Gradall rough terrain forklift, model G6-42A, to remove materials that had been lifted to the second floor. Among the feasible means of abatement that can be used to correct this are: Ensure that the provisions of ASME B56.6-2002, Safety Standard For Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks, section 5.15.1, a through y, are followed for protection of personnel lifted on forklifts.
