Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazards of falls: (a) Location - 85 Wells Avenue, Newton, MA: On or about 05/13/05, an employee was exposed to a serious fall hazard of up to 14 feet while climbing out of the man lift while it was elevated. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable, to correct this hazard, include but are not limited to: a) Conduct training an the safe use of the personnel lift as per the manufacturer's instructions b) Utilize operating instructions as specified by ANSI/SIA A92.6-1990 for elevated work platforms c) Develop and implement a fall protection plan.ction
