Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a)Surface Technologies Corporation: USS Dubuque, Naval Station 32nd Street: On 07/07/05, an employee was not wearing the seatbelt while operating the Caterpillar Forklift #60603 at the flight deck. The employee was moving a Jet Edge power generator to an another location of the flight deck. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the operator manual under Use of Seatbelt and ASME B56.1
