Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:02/24/06 Location:Warehouse Equipment:AAF FABRI-Pulse Dust Collector Condition:A dust collector, used to collect explosive dust from the production area, was not designed by and installed under the supervision of qualified engineers knowledgeable of these systems and their associated hazards. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to have a qualified engineer inspect the dust collector to ensure it is designed and installed in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 654, Standard for the Prevention of Fire and Dust Explosions From the Manufacturing, Processing and Handling of Combustible Particulate Solids; and if not, replace it or modify to meet standards.
