Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Underhung crane operators were exposed to potential shock hazards while operating the hanging pendant control. The multi-conductor cable powering the pendant control was under strain and not supported. Among the feasible means abatement would be to comply with the American National Standard Institute B30.11 - 1998, Section 11-1.9.1 Electrical Equipment and Section 11-2.1 Inspections.
