Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Walgreens jobsite/approximately 20 feet above grade. Employees were exposed to fall hazards while accessing the roof top area by climbing the rails of a scissor lift that did not extend above the roof parapet wall. Among feasible means of abatement would be to: a)Use the fixed ladder inside of the building b)Use a portable extension ladder c)Comply with the requirements of American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A92.6-1999 CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION
