Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Hazards associated with falls while climbing to and from the steel structure on the guardrails of scissor lifts and an aerial lift. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct these hazards is to comply with the manufacturer's requirements, ANSI/SIA A92.6-1999 for Self-Propelled Elevating Work Platforms and ANSI/SIA A92.5-1992 for Boom-Supported Elevating Work Platforms.
