Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards when accessing elevation from the Rough Terrain Forklift: (a) Construction activity: The personnel lift was situated was so that the forks extended to 2/3 of the load as specified in Section 6.4.6 of the B56.6 2005 of the American National Standards Institute Safety Standard for Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to operate the equipment as advised in B56.6-2005, the above-reference American National Standards Institute document.
